We got a lot done today! The walls and ceilings will be replastered in the spring, but for now we scrubbed down the walls and floors. Windows were cleaned. Donnie worked very hard putting together two sets of bunkbeds and the beds were made with fun and colorful bedding. Storage cabinets were put together, clothes were sorted and organized by size. By the end of the day, everything was really coming together and it is going to be awesome for the kids! The tile is being layed in the kitchen and is going to be beautiful. New appliances were purchased and delivered before we arrived.
We went and bought some supplies tonight including a couple of really large, fun area rugs for the kids' bedroom and the living room. Tomorrow we will paint the kitchen, the doors and the windows. Cabinets are being made and won't be finished for about another week. We'll take more of the supplies out to the center that we brought with us, donated by many of you.
Ava, one of the girls who used to live at Caminul Felix is now married, and is making all of the curtains for the center. We'll be picking her up to go to the fabric store to pick out the material in the morning.
Shawna and Beth, two girls from North Vernon, were here with Rachel last week helping with the center. We all worked together well today and had some fun too! (The group picture on the blog speaks for itself!)
We'll close for now and will continue to keep you posted as things progress. The goal is to officially open the Children's Center on Monday morning! We are so excited to be able to help Rachel and FMN with the Children's Center which will be a huge blessing from God for many children. Please pray for everything to get done this week and we look forward to sharing pictures of the first six children as they come to the FMN Children's Center for the very first time!

From Jerry:
Miss being there, but knew couldn't do a lot of physical work--but I could be a really good supervisor!! Don't think that's what needed right now. Kim, remember, you're still my bff, even though you are there without me.
Pictures are great. Can see all of you are working hard. What a wonderful home this will be for the kids.
Hi Folks,
Glad everything is going well and you made the trip safely. I liked the group picture but is the guy in the red shirt really a minister?
Be safe and know we are all praying for you.Thank you for glorifing Jesus,
In Christ

Looks like your having a lot of fun while getting a lot done. Sounds like everything is coming together. We are so excited that you will have the children in the home so soon. Keep the pictures coming.
Hi guys,
The pictures are great!! Please keep them coming. You all look like busy little bees. It is thrilling to see the progress you are making. I did not miss the fact that several of you are wearing coats. I know what that means...so here's a big hug from all of us here at home to keep you warm. I'm praying you all stay healthy while working in the cold.
I must admit that it's a little hard to "sit this one out" and I'm sure Brett, Jerry, Peggy and Becky feel the same. We love you and know first hand what your efforts will mean to those precious little ones.
A WORD for the day:
Proverbs 22: 2 Rich and poor have this in common: the Lord is the Maker of them all.
Proverbs 22:9 A generous man will himself be blessed for he shares his food with the poor.
In Christ,
Beth
Hello guys, It sounds like you are busy but having a good time working for the Lord.
I have been praying for you all every day and will continue, as well as the children and Rachel.
Annie
Hi Everyone,
I am so glad you made it there safe and sound. You are showing everyone what the love of Jesus in your life can do. I know you are so happy to be able to make a warm place for those wonderful children to live and feel the Love of Jesus in their lives. Keep up the good work and we are praying for you daily.
Your Sister in Christ

From Martha: Your faces says it all!! I'm lifting you up in prayer but I already know God has you all in the palm of His hand! Keep fighting the good fight, my precious brothers and sisters.
Your pictures are great. The center looks so bright and I know it is going to be beautiful for the children. I am so excited for you and the children, I can't wait to see photos when the little ones see their new home for the first time. They will be so happy thanks to Rachel and all of you. You are always in my prayers. God bless you and keep you in his care. I can only imagine how great it must be for those children to see the smiles on your faces and the love in your heart for them. You are all so special.
Sending Gods Love
